Match Preview
Crewe wait for Clayton Crewe striker Clayton Donaldson is a doubt for the visit of Aldershot. The club's joint-leading scorer is receiving treatment after suffering knee and ankle knocks during the victory at Southend, where he headed his fifth goal of the season. Donaldson will undergo a fitness test, with Shaun Miller or AJ Leitch-Smith available to replace him should he miss out. "We've not written Clayton off yet but both his ankle and knee are sore after the whack he got," said Alex boss Dario Gradi. "We are well off for strikers, so it is a department that can cope with injuries." Danny Blanchett is a doubt after the defender was forced off with a knock at half-time against Southend last weekend. Defender Jamie Vincent will return for Aldershot. The left-back was suspended for the 2-1 win over Morecambe last weekend but is in line to come back into the side. That may mean manager Kevin Dillon has to reshuffle, with Antony Straker - who will play his 150th game for the club since joining from Crystal Palace in 2007 - moving back into his preferred position on the wing after filling in at full-back. Jack Randall may feature after starting for the reserves against Brighton in midweek following his recovery from a broken ankle sustained in pre-season and Marlon Jackson has extended his loan spell from Bristol City for a second month. Defender Clayton Fortune limped off with a hip injury in the reserve defeat and is doubtful while former Reading midfielder John Halls was sent off. Halls will serve a three-game suspension which will begin on Tuesday 2 November. Former Burnley winger Glen Little left the ground on crutches last week after taking a kick to his ankle but will travel and could yet start.

Match Report
Alex continue impressive form Crewe extended their unbeaten run to 11 games and leapfrogged Aldershot into the play-off zone thanks to a 3-1 win. The visitors were unlucky not to win a fifth-minute penalty when Danny Blanchett looked to have tripped Marvin Morgan in the box but referee Andy Haines waved play on. Lee Bell fluffed a couple of good chances for the Alex before Ben Harding curled a tame effort wide for the Shots. Byron Moore finally broke the deadlock two minutes before the break with a stunning turn and finish into the bottom corner of Jamie Young's net. The Alex doubled their advantage sixty seconds later when Joel Grant applied the finishing touch to a superb team passing move. Clayton Donaldson was denied by Young straight after the break and Anthony Straker side-footed over a glorious chance to pull one back for the visitors. Straker made amends in the 52nd minute, netting Morgan's perfect centre from six yards out. But Crewe restored their two-goal advantage in the 58th minute as Luke Murphy crossed for Westwood to head home. Dean Morgan almost gave the visitors a late lifeline but shot cannoned back off the crossbar.
