Match Preview
Howell return rouses Red Devils Dean Howell and Josh Simpson are back in contention for Crawley ahead of the visit of Shrewsbury. Defender Howell has been out for five weeks with a calf problem and midfielder Simpson missed four matches due to a hip injury. But both players got a run-out for the reserves in midweek to prove their fitness and could be added to the squad. Club captain Pablo Mills also played for the second string as he continues his recovery after six months out with an ankle injury, but with Town on a four-match winning run there is no need to rush the defender back. Striker Tyrone Barnett has been playing on despite a slight hamstring problem and should be available again. James Collins is pushing for a recall to Shrewsbury's starting XI. The striker was dropped to the bench for last weekend's late 3-2 victory over Barnet but responded by bagging a midweek hat-trick for the Republic of Ireland's Under-21 side as they beat Liechtenstein 4-1 in a European Championship qualifier. Fellow forward Tom Bradshaw also comes back into the fold following his international exploits with Wales Under-21s. Manager Graham Turner made four changes against Barnet from the side beaten 3-0 at Southend, goalkeeper Chris Neal coming in along with fit-again skipper Ian Sharps, midfielder Matt Richards and striker Terry Gornell. And it remains to be seen who Turner will go with at the Broadfield Stadium, with the quartet all starting Tuesday's 2-1 reserve defeat to Birmingham in a bid to get more minutes under their belts. Defender Carl Regan also featured in the friendly as he steps up his recovery from lengthy injury problems but he is likely to need more match practice before being considered for first-team action. Reuben Hazell (knee) remains out long-term.

Match Report
Reds romp to top spot Goals from Sergio Torres and Dean Howell helped Crawley to a 2-1 victory over Shrewsbury, a result which sees the Reds return to the top of League Two. Town, who have now won five consecutive league matches, were rewarded for a positive start when Torres tapped them into the lead in the 14th minute. Tyrone Barnett flicked on Andy Drury's pass and Torres sent Shrewsbury keeper Chris Neal the wrong way with a cool right-foot finish. Barnett almost doubled Town's lead two minutes later when he picked up possession midway inside Shrewsbury's half and surged past three opposing defenders before dragging his shot narrowly wide. A stunning 30-yard volley from Lionel Ainsworth then forced Scott Shearer into a spectacular stop while Mark Wright almost drew Shrewsbury level with a close-range header. But Howell promptly put Crawley two ahead in the 39th minute with an exquisite free-kick which curled over the Shrewsbury wall and into the net. The away side set up a tense finish when Wright scrambled Joe Jacobson's cross over the line in the 72nd minute but Crawley held on to secure a well-deserved victory.
