Defensive doubts for Red Devils Crawley will check on defenders Claude Davis and Lloyd James ahead of the visit of Rotherham. Davis was a late withdrawal from the starting line-up at Gillingham on Tuesday night as he was suffering from a virus while James, who has extended his loan from Colchester until the end of the season, missed out with bruised ribs. Goalkeeper Scott Shearer will be a surprise addition to the squad after a rapid recovery from a knee injury. Shearer was expected to miss the rest of the season but is now back to challenge Michel Kuipers for the gloves. David Hunt remains on the sidelines with a broken foot while boss Steve Evans has allowed fellow defender Glenn Wilson to join non-league Woking on loan. Managerless Rotherham have three injury doubts. Defender Michael Raynes suffered a nasty facial injury in Tuesday's win over Macclesfield, striker Lewis Grabban has been passing blood in his urine following an awkward fall on his side and Alex Revell (calf) also pulled up with an injury in midweek. All three will travel with the squad to Sussex and be given up until kick-off to prove their fitness. Ryan Cresswell is on stand-by to replace Raynes should he not make it while there are a number of options for the Millers in attack should Grabban or Revell not be fit. Veteran defender Richard Naylor and Luke Foster (both knee) are long-term injury victims. Caretaker manager Darren Patterson will definitely be in charge at Broadhall Way as the Millers' search for Andy Scott's replacement goes on.
