Rowlands to miss Blades battle Martin Rowlands will miss Colchester's home clash against second-placed Sheffield United. The midfielder was forced off in the 25th minute of Saturday's goalless draw at Wycombe nursing a groin injury. That means manager John Ward will be forced into a change for the first time in four games as his in-form side aim to extend their unbeaten run to six matches. Andy Bond replaced Rowlands at Adams Park and could well start from the off against the Blades, while Karl Duguid is also in contention to be promoted from the bench. That opens up a spot for fit-again winger Ashley Vincent to possibly regain his place in Ward's matchday 16. Colchester's recent run has moved them up to ninth place in League One, within eight points off the play-offs. Sheffield United defender Andy Taylor could return to Danny Wilson's squad at Colchester. Taylor recently returned to the starting line-up at left-back for his first appearance in 14 months, but after two games in four days was rested at the weekend. Marcus Williams was recalled to the left-back berth in Taylor's absence in Saturday's win at Brentford, where Wilson made five changes. Harry Maguire and Matt Lowton returned to the back four after suspension, Will Hoskins made his first start for the club since arriving on loan from Brighton at the end of January and fellow striker Chris Porter was also back in favour. Wilson has no new injury or suspension problems and is not expected to make too many, if any, changes at Colchester, although forwards Richard Cresswell and James Beattie, plus midfielder Nick Montgomery are hoping to force their way back into the side.
