No worries for Ward
Colchester are likely to be unchanged for the visit of Exeter.
The Us ended a four-match losing streak with a 1-0 win over Oldham in midweek and boss John Ward has reported no new injuries.
On-loan Ipswich defender Tommy Smith remains on international duty with New Zealand so Matt Heath keeps his place at centre-half.
Pat Baldwin is still missing with an Achilles injury and fellow defender Magnus Okuonghae has been ruled out for the season following ankle surgery.
Midfielder John-Joe O'Toole has made four appearances as a substitute after almost a year on the sidelines with a cruciate injury and will be on the bench again.
The Us are currently in 10th place in the table, 10 points off the play-offs.
Exeter boss Paul Tisdale will wait on the fitness of defender Steve Tully before naming his squad.
The 31-year-old full-back suffered a groin injury during the second half of Tuesday night's 3-2 defeat against Yeovil and had to be replaced by David Noble.
Tully will be given as much time as possible to prove his availability, but Tisdale may be forced to shuffle his pack if he fails to recover in time.
The Grecians boss could revert to a 4-4-2 formation with Noble taking up a midfield position and Scott Golbourne dropping back to left-back and Richard Duffy moving to right-back.
Tisdale has no other injury or suspension problems to worry about.
Strikers Marcus Stewart and Daniel Nardiello are both pushing for recalls following cameo appearances against the Glovers.
Gillespie at the double as Us cruise
Steven Gillespie scored twice as rampant Colchester put nine-man Exeter to the sword in a 5-1 win.
Exeter went ahead just before the midway point in the first half through Daniel Nardiello, who finished at the far post after John O'Flynn had helped on Steve Tully's throw.
But Gillespie flicked in Matt Heath's powerful header just after the half hour to equalise for Colchester.
Tully was sent off nine minutes before the break for fouling Ashley Vincent and denying a goalscoring opportunity, before Us goalkeeper Ben Williams tipped O'Flynn's header onto the post.
Exeter were reduced to nine men with 20 minutes left when Scott Golbourne was dismissed for fouling Vincent in the area and David Mooney converted the resulting penalty.
Vincent pounced on Lloyd James' pass to make it 3-1 and barely a minute later, Gillespie converted from Andy Bond's pass for 4-1.
Bond struck a fifth from close range with four minutes to go after Mooney had hit a post to wrap up the Us` big win.
