It's 3pm on Saturday, April 16th, the match has kicked off.
Two blunders by Huddersfield keeper Paul Rachubka in each half ended the Terriers' recent winning streak and any chance they had grabbing of a play-off place following a 2-2 home draw with Colchester United. Former Charlton stopper, Rachubka, palmed Richard Garcia's byline cross into the path of United's top scorer Neil Danns and he easily knocked in his 10th goal of the season from close range on 19 minutes. Rachubka was also at fault in the fourth minute of stoppage time when he failed to collect a John White corner driven in from the right, allowing Liam Chilvers to salvage a point for the visitors. Huddersfield had initially levelled in the match thanks to a controversial Pawel Abbott free-kick taken while Colchester were still trying to line up their defensive wall barely a minute after taking the lead. Danny Schofield then blasted in a terrific drive from Andy Booth's flick on cross on 62 minutes which looked to have put Town on course for a sixth straight win. But the home side spent the remaining half-hour trying to defend deep inside their own territory and then had their plans wrecked when defenders Tom and Nathan Clarke both went off injured. Tom, 17, pulled up with a hamstring injury and 21-year old brother Nathan, suffered a badly gashed lip. The injuries forced manager Peter Jackson to instruct striker Andy Booth to play as an emergency centre back for the remainder of the game. During the last 15 minutes Colchester played with a four up front and they desperately searched for an equaliser that would preserve their unbeaten record. They had a great chance three minutes from time when Gareth Williams headed over from a close range when left unmarked at a corner. But the visitors got their reward deep in stoppage time when Rachubka tried and failed to pluck White's corner under pressure. The late strike means Colchester are now unbeaten in eight games while Huddersfield, who are now unbeaten in six matches, have had their slim play-off hopes effectively ended.
