Scullion doubt for Clyde Clyde centre-back Pat Scullion is the only doubt for the Broadwood side as they look to extend their unbeaten start to the season against visitors Montrose. Despite a win over much-fancied Peterhead and coming back from a goal behind to draw with Alloa, manager Jim Duffy has played down talk of his men being favourites against the Gable Endies. Duffy said: "We were a side that finished bottom of the table last time out so it will be a long time before I consider us to be favourites for any game. "Montrose defeated Elgin 3-0 last weekend, and Ray Farningham has put together a useful side, so we need to play as well as we have done to take anything from this meeting." Montrose welcome back defenders Jonathan Smart and Stephen McNally to their squad following suspension. Striker Sean Pierce is again expected to be missing through injury, with Links Park boss Ray Farningham hoping that his men repeat the form that blew Elgin away 3-0 last Saturday. Farningham said: "I was delighted with the performance and the result last weekend and hopefully we can carry that on against Clyde. "It will not be easy as they will be full of confidence after their opening results against Peterhead and Alloa. "Jim Duffy has then playing well but if we are to have a good season this is the type of game that we should be taking something from."

Match Report

McDonald strike earns victory for Clyde Clyde continued their promising start to the season with 1-0 home victory over Montrose, who ended the match with ten men. Stephen McDonald's close-range finish was the deciding goal of the game in the 50th minute, following good work by midfielder Liam Cusack on the right wing. The lively Cusack was again involved four minutes later, heading John Neill's cross against the post. Cusack then had his 58th minute shot brilliantly tipped over the bar by Montrose goalkeeper Michael Andrews. Any hope of the away side scoring a late equaliser and earning a share of the spoils was dashed five minutes before the end of the game when midfielder Paul Lunan was sent off for his second bookable offence.
