Match Preview

Miller still missing for Clyde Bottom-of-the-table Clyde will again be without experienced new signing Charlie Miller against Berwick as they await international clearance. Defender Alan Lithgow looks set to miss out after being injured in the weekend encounter against Elgin, while striker Marc McCusker is sidelined after being sent off in that match. Recently installed boss Jim Duffy feels much better prepared for his second game in charge. He explained: "Saturday was all about me learning about the players we have at Clyde and now I have something to build on. "I saw enough to suggest that we can start rising to the challenge of winning as many games as possible between now and the end of the season." Berwick are hoping full-back Elliot Smith will overcome the injury that forced him out at the weekend. The Borderers set the early-season pace and won at the Cumbernauld ground in both the league and Scottish Cup. However, they have slumped recently and have won only once in 12 league games. Their only success came against their luckless hosts back in a home match last November, and manager Jimmy Crease is looking for the same again. He said: "We have been struggling recently but having already won at Broadwood twice this season I`m hoping that the players are inspired to make it three wins in a row and get us moving up the way again."

Match Report

Rare home win for Clyde Clyde secured their first home win of the season with a deserved 2-0 victory over Berwick. John Stewart's first-half strike gave the hosts the lead before Kevin Finlayson wrapped up the Bully Wee's first win since August. Berwick, who have not registered a win in their last six matches in all competitions, failed to pick up Stewart's run as he tapped in Nicki Paterson's left-wing cross after 13 minutes for his second goal in as many matches. John Grant missed a superb chance to level on the stroke of half-time but his header from six yards cleared the crossbar. In a rare second-half attack, Berwick's Damon Gray tested Bryn Halliwell from 18 yards, but Finlayson made sure of the win with a cool finish from inside the box with just two minutes remaining. Berwick`s Alan Brazil was sent off in the closing stages, but Clyde held on to gain some revenge following three defeats against the Borderers this season.
