Match Preview

Jack out of the Hunt for leaders League leaders Chesterfield will be without Jack Hunt for the visit of Shrewsbury. The on-loan left-back collected his fifth yellow card of the season during the win at Wycombe last week that saw the Spireites go top of the table. He must serve a one-match suspension. Dan Gray looks likely to replace Hunt and make his first start of the campaign. Gray has featured for just half-an-hour this season and that was in midfield during the defeat at Rotherham a month ago. Jack Lester could be restored to the starting line up after the veteran striker impressed as a second-half substitute at Wycombe. Chesterfield remain unbeaten at the b2net Stadium this season, winning five and drawing one of their six league matches. Temitope Obadeyi is in line to make his debut for Shrewsbury. The 20-year-old completed a one-month loan deal from Barclays Premier League club Bolton on Friday and goes straight into the Shrews' squad. He could be joined in the XI by Dean Holden, who has been recalled from a loan spell at Rotherham due to doubts over David Raven's fitness. Manager Graham Turner has revealed he may make changes for the clash. "There might be one or two changes to the side," he told the club's official website. "Obadeyi is in contention for a start - he has enough ability to go straight into the side." Turner's troops have slipped in recent weeks after making an excellent start to the season, but will be hoping to get back on track by claiming all three points against the Spireites.

Match Report

Spireites edge thriller League Two leaders Chesterfield demolished Shrewsbury with a stunning first-half display but ended up hanging on for a 4-3 victory. Goals from Drew Talbot, Jack Lester and Craig Davies shattered the visitors who conceded again when Davies added a second in the 63rd minute. But Mark Wright, Kevin McIntyre and Craig Disley hit back in the last 10 minutes to set up a tense finale. Graham Turner's team made a decent start despite their coach not arriving until 30 minutes before kick-off because of an accident on the M1 but sloppy defending undermined them. The ball was given away cheaply just outside the area in the 29th minute and Lester played in Talbot to score his second of the season. Lester headed a second in the 42nd minute when he got in front of a defender at the near post and Shrewsbury were finished when Davies smashed in an unstoppable 25-yard shot three minutes later. The striker turned in a Talbot cross for his 10th of the campaign and although Wright pounced in the 80th minute, McIntyre struck again a minute from time and Disley scored with a diving header, it was not enough.
