Match Preview
Westcarr boost for Spireites Craig Westcarr is expected to return to the Chesterfield squad for the visit of League One leaders Charlton. Westcarr has missed the last six matches in all competitions after suffering an ankle injury during the home defeat to Exeter on January 7. The forward looks ready to come back into the reckoning and manager John Sheridan could even restore him to the starting line-up. However, he will face competition from new signing Nicky Ajose. The former Manchester United trainee made his debut as a second-half substitute in the defeat at Carlisle last weekend after arriving on loan from Peterborough for the remainder of the season. Jimmy Juan is progressing well as he bids to overcome a calf injury. The French midfielder has stepped up his recovery though a return at the weekend looks a little optimistic. He could come back into contention when the Spireites travel to Bury on Tuesday. Darel Russell is Charlton's only absentee for the trip. The on-loan Preston midfielder serves the final game of a three-match ban for his sending-off against Sheffield United last month. Top scorer Bradley Wright-Phillips should return to the squad after he was rested for last week's 1-1 draw against Bury. Former Chesterfield frontman Leon Clarke got the nod up front for his full debut, a month after joining from Swindon, while another January signing, Danny Haynes, came on as a substitute. Midfielder Dale Stephens came through his first 90 minutes since October against Bury after recovering from an ankle injury and should keep his place after hitting the late equaliser.
