It's 3pm on Saturday, September 6th, the match has kicked off.
High-flying Bury came from behind to earn a share of the spoils in an entertaining encounter with Chester. The home side had gone ahead through Damien Mozika's first goal for his new club, only for Andy Bishop to earn his side a point with a second-half penalty. It was a well contested game with incidents are both ends. Chester had a penalty appeal waved away on 25 minutes when Ryan Lowe went down in the box, but referee Nigel Miller ignored the claims. Kevin Ellison struck a left-foot volley from the edge of the box on 35 minutes that former Chester stopper Wayne Brown held on to with an acrobatic save to his right. Seven minutes from the break, the home side went ahead as Lowe beat Ben Futcher to the ball and slipped a pass inside to Mozika, who hit a first-time effort into the far corner. Within two minutes of the re-start, Bury drew level after Chester captain Paul Linwood needlessly gave away a penalty by bringing down Andy Morrell. Bishop made no mistake, slotting the ball home despite keeper John Danby going the right way. Bishop then wasted a glorious chance when Morrell's cross found him unmarked in the box, but the striker's free header went high and wide. Mozika forced a save from Brown and Stephen Vaughan's long-range effort on 77 minutes had the keeper back-pedalling to tip the ball over. Bishop had a late chance to snatch the points when Elliott Bennett's pinpoint cross found him unmarked, but his header was wide of the target as the game ended all square. On the hour mark, it was Morrell's turn to be wasteful after Stephen Dawson's cross came to him ten yards from goal, only for the forward to fire his effort straight at Danby.
