Match Preview
Russ pencilled in for Robins return Cheltenham will be able to call on midfielder Russ Penn for the visit of Shrewsbury in npower League Two on Boxing Day. Penn missed the 2-2 draw at Barnet on December 16 because of suspension but has served the one-match ban he picked up for accumulating five yellow cards over the course of the season and has shrugged off a slight hamstring strain to be available to manager Mark Yates. The 26-year-old could go straight back into Yates' starting line-up in place of James Spencer. Yates has the luxury of having a fully-fit and suspension-free squad at his disposal for the clash as Cheltenham look to go second in the division - should results elsewhere go in their favour. Shrewsbury boast an almost fully-fit squad. On-loan Everton midfielder James Wallace missed last weekend's 1-0 win over Macclesfield due to illness but has now recovered and is in contention. Defender Jermaine Grandison is also back in full training having completed his recovery from a torn hamstring, although whether he is thrown straight into Graham Turner's starting XI at Whaddon Road remains to be seen. That leaves Reuben Hazell as Town's only absentee, with the defender looking to return from his knee injury by early February. Turner made three changes for the victory over Macclesfield having seen his side's eight-match unbeaten run halted in disappointing fashion against Aldershot the week previous, winger Jon Taylor and strikers James Collins and Tom Bradshaw coming in. And he faces a welcome selection dilemma as Lionel Ainsworth, Terry Gornell and Marvin Morgan all push to reclaim their places against the Robins as fourth meets third in League Two.

Match Report
Robins and Shrews provide goalless excitement Promotion chaser Cheltenham and Shrewsbury played out an entertaining goalless draw at the Abbey Business Stadium. Both goalkeepers were tested in the first half, Chris Neal denyinig Cheltenham's Luke Summerfield with a low save in the seventh minute. At the other end Scott Brown did well to reach Mark Wright's shot and Shrewsbury skipper Ian Sharps glanced Matt Richards' floated free-kick against the outside of the left post. Kaid Mohamed headed at Neal from a good position for Cheltenham as the first half ended 0-0. It remained that way after the break, but Shrewsbury had two late chances to snatch the points, with Marvin Morgan striding through to be thwarted by Brown in the 78th minute, before Wright fired the loose ball wide with the goal gaping. And when Brown could only parry Wright's shot with seven minutes left it Morgan failed to convert the second ball from close range. Cheltenham's best opportunities to win came fell to James Spencer, who drove over after Marlon Pack had sent a fierce volley clear of the crossbar.
