Match Report
Runaway League One leaders Leicester City ended a frustrating run of four draws in a row at the Walkers Stadium with an emphatic win against rock-bottom Cheltenham Town.
Steve Howard, Matty Fryatt, Tom Cleverley and Matt Oakley were all on target for the Foxes who are now unbeaten in their last 23 League games.
City took the lead on 15 minutes when Cleverley's deep cross found Howard who rose above a static Town defence to head home from five yards.
The Foxes doubled their advantage on 22 minutes when a Howard knock-down found Fryatt who, from 12 yards, drilled the ball across Scott Brown and into the far corner of the net.
A fine pass by Max-Alain Gradel then played in Fryatt who stepped inside a defender before curling a shot just beyond the far post.
The Foxes were in complete control and were denied a third goal on 37 minutes when Brown dived smartly to his right to palm away Oakley's shot.
There was no rest for the keeper who moments later beat away a stinging drive from Andy King.
Leicester were soon on the offensive after the re-start with Jack Hobbs clipping the bar with a header from Cleverley's corner.
City had a scare when they failed to clear a long throw from Lee Ridley that allowed substitute Paul Connor to head against the bar.
Cleverley then went on a mazy run and found himself one-on-one with the keeper but his wayward shot failed to find the corner of the net.
But Cleverley made no mistake on 67 minutes when he slotted the ball home after another mazy run had left the Cheltenham defence floundering.
Cleverley then played in Oakley who ran through a ragged Town defence to guide home City's fourth on 70 minutes to complete the rout.
