Match Report

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho hailed the magnificent effort of his players after the Champions League victory over Barcelona.

Didier Drogba scored his fourth European goal of the season to hand the Blues three precious Group A points with a decisive strike less than a minute into the second half at Stamford Bridge.

"It was a great victory in an amazing game," said Mourinho. "They are great opponents, of course, but the team was magnificent.

"They did everything we talked about. There was magnificent concentration and magnificent commitment.

"I only feel sorry we could not kill the game off because we had many, many chances.

"I am not saying we are much better than them, but tonight even the most fanatical Spanish supporter, if they want to be honest, have to say Chelsea were the best team.

"We can qualify with nine points but I think we need some more. We have to think about winning the group now."
