Match Preview
Hamer blow for Addicks Charlton will be without first-choice goalkeeper Ben Hamer when they host Brentford. Hamer is suspended for the meeting with his former club after being sent off in the opening stages of Saturday's defeat at Leyton Orient, so John Sullivan gets a rare start for the leaders. Striker Leon Clarke could make his debut after moving to the Addicks from Swindon in a swap deal with Paul Benson heading in the opposite direction. Winger Danny Green returns from a ban and should reclaim his place in the starting line-up, while midfielder Hogan Ephraim will be checked over after he was unwell on Saturday. Midfielder Dale Stephens is expected to miss out again although he is close to returning from an ankle injury. Dale Bennett is back in the Brentford squad for the trip. The defender has rejoined the Bees on a month's loan from Watford after his previous spell at Griffin Park earlier this season was cut short by a knee injury after just one appearance. Manager Uwe Rosler rotated his squad for Saturday's 3-3 draw with MK Dons so the likes of defender Harlee Dean, midfielder Toumani Diagouraga and striker Clayton Donaldson can expect recalls. Defender Karleigh Osborne is also pushing to be included following his recent recovery from a foot injury. Club captain Kevin O'Connor is still on the sidelines with an ankle injury and is not expected to be back in action until February.

Match Report
Addicks back buzzing against Bees Charlton returned to winning ways at The Valley as goals in each half from Michael Morrison and Danny Green overcame Brentford by 2-0. Bradley Wright-Phillips had the first opportunity after 14 minutes when he curled his cross-cum-shot wide of the left-hand post. Morrison headed the hosts in front in the 31st minute when he bravely got ahead of onrushing goalkeeper Richard Lee to net his third goal of the season. Leon Cort put a free header wide of Lee's left-hand post in first-half stoppage time following a cross from the right by Danny Green. Charlton captain Johnnie Jackson could have doubled their lead soon after the restart when his header in the six-yard box bounced off the post. The best opportunity for Brentford came just before the hour mark when central midfielder Marcus Bean fired wide from 10 yards out. Sam Saunders blasted a free-kick over the crossbar with 12 minutes to go for the visitors. Substitute Scott Wagstaff stretched but put his effort over the bar after 83 minutes before the game was put beyond doubt in the 90th minute when Green turned in the box and slotted home his second goal of the season.
