Robson back for Cumbrians Carlisle defender Matty Robson will return to contention for the visit of Oldham following suspension. Robson, a converted winger, missed the midweek win over Sheffield Wednesday after his dismissal in last weekend's defeat at Charlton. But he may have to settle for a place on the substitutes' bench after the Cumbrians turned in their best performance of the season on Tuesday night. Central defender Lubo Michalik was recalled alongside Danny Livesey against Wednesday, with Peter Murphy switched to left-back and James Tavernier on the opposite flank and manager Greg Abbott may be tempted to stick with the same back four. Skipper Paul Thirlwell is expected to increase Abbott's midfield options after missing the last three games with a calf strain. Right-back Frank Simek (calf) is working his way back to full fitness after suffering a setback in his recovery from a long-term thigh injury and winger Andy Welsh (calf) remains sidelined. Oldham manager Paul Dickov looks set to name an unchanged XI after striker Shefki Kuqi was passed fit. Having scored the Latics' first goal, Kuqi was withdrawn in the 66th minute of Tuesday's impressive 3-3 draw at Preston with a groin injury. However, Dickov confirmed in his press conference on Thursday that the Finland international would play, insisting the substitution was merely a precaution. Filipe Morais missed the trip to the Lilywhites due to a hamstring complaint but looks set to return to the fold against the Cumbrians. The winger may have to settle for a place on the bench, though, with Dickov set to stick with the same side that performed so impressively at Deepdale.
