Troy banned for Cumbrians
Carlisle's summer recruit Troy Archibald-Henville will miss his new club's opening game of the season against Luton through suspension.
Defender Archibald-Henville, who had a short loan spell with the Cumbrians last season, is banned for the first three games of the season, so fellow new signing Danny Grainger, Courtney Meppen-Walter and Sean O'Hanlon will contest for the two centre-half berths.
Winger David Amoo is doubtful as he recovers from an ankle injury, but otherwise manager Graham Kavanagh has a clean bill of health.
New midfielders Danny Kearns and Alex Marrow, plus fellow summer signing Stephen Elliott, signed on Thursday, are all hoping to make their competitive debuts for the club.
Luton are boosted by the return to fitness of Luke Guttridge ahead of their return to Football League action.
The midfielder, 34, last started a competitive game on March 1, scoring in a 3-0 win over Alfreton before a metatarsal injury ended his campaign. However, he has featured in Town's pre-season friendlies and played the full 90 minutes against Biggleswade Town on Monday.
"He'll come into contention," said manager John Still. "Will he start? I don't think so, but he'll probably be able to go on the bench. He's a very, very important player, he missed at the end of last season, but he's fit now."
However, the Hatters are likely to be without a quartet of midfielders for the trip to Brunton Park - Alex Lawless, Shaun Whalley, Jonathan Smith and Andy Parry are all major doubts.
