Garner return for Cumbrians Carlisle will be boosted by the availability of striker Joe Garner for the home game with Crawley. Garner, on loan from Watford, was cup-tied for the midweek Capital One Cup defeat to Tottenham and another loanee, Huddersfield's Kallum Higginbotham, stepped in to replace him. Manager Greg Abbott, who has no major new injury or suspension concerns, must decide whether to retain Higginbotham alongside Danny Cadamarteri or recall Garner. Midfielder Paul Thirlwell (concussion) and defender Danny Livesey (head wound) were both doubts for the midweek defeat to Spurs, but should be okay. Thirlwell lasted an hour before being replaced by Liam Noble, who is pushing for a recall, and Livesey played the full 90 minutes. Striker Lee Miller (knee) remains a long-term absentee as the Cumbrians bid to extend their unbeaten league run to five matches.M Crawley skipper Gary Alexander is expected to return to the starting line-up. The veteran striker started Tuesday night's Capital One Cup clash with Swansea on the bench, although he came on for the final five minutes as Town fell to a narrow 3-2 defeat. Defenders Kyle McFadzean and David Hunt and forward Nicky Ajose were also rested and should return along with midfielder Mike Jones, who was cup-tied. Centre-half Claude Davis played the full 90 minutes in midweek after missing four matches with a hip injury and will hope to his place along with Tottenham loanee Nathan Byrne, who made his debut at right-back. Winger Sergio Torres is also fit again after a leg injury. Bermudan striker Jonte Smith has extended his loan spell at Ryman League Met Police.
