Bluebirds to check on duo
Cardiff will assess both Michael Chopra and Aaron Ramsey as they look to get back to winning ways at home to in-form Leicester.
Striker Chopra missed Saturday`s 2-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest with an ankle injury, reported by some sources as a fracture, but it is not believed to be as serious and manager Dave Jones does not expect him to be a long-term concern.
On-loan midfielder Ramsey also sat out at the City Ground with a thigh problem and requires a fitness test, with both players "touch and go" to face the Foxes according to Jones.
A couple of faces missed training on Sunday due to illness and will be monitored, along with full-back Paul Quinn who came out of Saturday`s game with a tight calf to go with a hamstring problem he shrugged off ahead of the clash.
Cardiff surrendered an unbeaten seven-match league run versus Forest and they will now come up against Sven-Goran Eriksson`s resurgent Leicester, who have won seven of their previous eight.
It will be Leicester`s first visit to the Welsh capital since last May when they lost 5-3 on penalties in a dramatic shootout to settle a wonderful play-off semi-final, which ended 3-3 over the two legs.
Darius Vassell is a slight concern for Leicester.
The experienced striker did not train on Monday due to a tight hamstring and he is a doubt.
Fellow forward Steve Howard is Eriksson`s only other injury problem. Howard has missed the last two matches with an ankle knock and he will be monitored.
Martyn Waghorn, who scored an injury-time match-winner against Bristol City on Friday night, would start should Vassell or Howard not make it.
Eriksson is blessed with options should he wish to make changes. Defenders Jeffrey Bruma, Bruno Berner and Miguel Vitor and midfielders Lloyd Dyer and Yuki Abe are also available for recalls.
Victory in south Wales could take Leicester into the play-off positions.
Cardiff halt Foxes` charge
Michael Chopra and Aaron Ramsey's well-taken goals either side of half-time saw Cardiff get their promotion charge back on track with a 2-0 win over play-off chasing Leicester.
Chopra's eighth league goal of the season and Ramsey's first goal since his arrival on loan from Arsenal saw the Bluebirds return to winning ways following Saturday's defeat to fellow promotion candidates Nottingham Forest.
After a quiet 15 minutes, the game came to life with Ayegbeni Yakubu having the first chance, but the Nigerian's shot was well saved by Tom Heaton following good link-up play with Paul Gallagher.
Leicester had another chance soon after when Lloyd Dyer found Patrick van Aanholt on the left, but the on-loan Chelsea defender's shot was well blocked by Heaton.
Cardiff opened the scoring against the run of play on 21 minutes when Seyi Olofinjana found Chopra and the striker made no mistake, sweeping the ball into the bottom corner from 12 yards.
The Foxes continued to attack in search of an equaliser with Jeffrey Bruma going close, but the defender could not keep his 20-yard shot underneath the crossbar.
On-loan Everton striker Yakubu tried his luck from distance five minutes before half-time, but despite troubling Heaton, the ball fizzed just wide of the left upright.
Leicester started the second half much like they ended the first with Ritchie Wellens testing Heaton from 20 yards, with the goalkeeper having to tip the midfielder's shot around the post.
The Bluebirds weathered the storm once again and doubled their advantage on 51 minutes when midfielder Ramsey coolly slotted Kevin McNaughton's cross into the bottom corner from 12 yards.
The home side went close to putting the game out of the Foxes' reach with Jay Emmanuel-Thomas testing Ricardo with a header from a Peter Whittingham free-kick, while Jay Bothroyd had a shot blocked by Ben Mee.
Cardiff boss Dave Jones introduced Jon Parkin on 75 minutes to freshen up his strikeforce and the striker took less than two minutes to test Ricardo with an 18-yard shot.
Substitute Chris Burke easily skipped past two defenders but after creating an opening, shot wide of the target while Van Aanholt had another shot saved by Heaton.
Cardiff closed out the game smartly, keeping hold of the ball to ensure they picked up a vital three points in their quest for promotion to the Premier League.
