Clean bill of health for Shakers Bury manager Richie Barker has no new injury worries for the visit of Scunthorpe. Mark Carrington passed a late fitness test to return to the Shakers midfield after a hamstring problem in Saturday's 4-1 defeat to Wycombe, while top scorer Andy Bishop (calf) made his comeback from the bench. Neither player suffered a reaction and are both available to take part against the Iron. Bishop could start in attack alongside Shaun Harrad, who marked his first game back at Gigg Lane with a goal on Saturday following a spell on loan with Rotherham. Skipper Steven Schumacher (hamstring) and forward Lenell John-Lewis (thigh) hope to be back in action within two weeks, while Peter Sweeney serves the second game of a three-match suspension. The Wycombe reverse was Bury's second consecutive 4-1 loss and Barker's men are without a win in their last 11 outings. Scunthorpe striker Garry Thompson will miss the game due to an abductor muscle strain. Thompson sustained the injury during Saturday's home draw with Charlton and will undergo a scan on Wednesday to determine the extent of the problem. Jordan Robertson, who has found game time hard to come by since returning from a hip injury, replaced Thompson on Saturday and could be included in the starting line-up alongside on-loan Cardiff forward Jon Parkin. Michael O'Connor returned to the substitutes' bench at the weekend following suspension and is pushing for a recall, as is fellow midfielder Jimmy Ryan, who has recently been nursing a troublesome knee. Sam Togwell, now back from a ban, is hoping to return to the squad after being left out altogether at the weekend, while manager Alan Knill has no other new injury or suspension worries.
