Match Preview
Rovers wait on Hoskins Bristol Rovers are sweating on the fitness of Will Hoskins and Gary Sawyer ahead of Exeter's visit to the Memorial Stadium. Hoskins suffered an ankle injury in the 1-0 midweek victory over Bournemouth and the 17-goal former Watford striker will be assessed ahead of the game. Sawyer returned to training this week after recovering from a groin injury and will also be the subject of a late fitness test. Tuesday's win over promotion-chasing Bournemouth, courtesy of Jeff Hughes' first-half spot-kick, moved Rovers out of the npower League Two relegation zone for the first time since December. "We've done the hard work, getting out of the bottom four, it's just staying out of there now," said assistant boss Craig Hinton on the club's official website. "I think confidence is high at the moment and I hope we take that into Saturday." Troy Archibald-Henville and Liam Sercombe are expected to shake off minor injuries in time for Exeter. Archibald-Henville missed last Saturday's dramatic 2-1 win over Dagenham with a knee problem, while Sercombe was also not risked as he was carrying an ankle complaint. "I imagine both Liam and Troy will be fit for Saturday," said Grecians boss Paul Tisdale in the Express and Echo. "I could have pushed them both into playing last weekend, I'm sure they could have done if they'd had to, but it wasn't worth it." Marcus Stewart has confirmed he will retire after the clash with his former club. The 38-year-old will bring the curtain down on an illustrious career which has seen him score 254 goals in 782 games.

Match Report
Stewart signs off with win Substitute Danny Nardiello hit two late goals as Exeter beat Bristol Rovers 2-0 to make it a happy final appearance for veteran striker Marcus Stewart. Nardiello netted with a close-range shot after Stewart had touched on Ryan Harley's 78th-minute cross. He then ran onto Harley's through-ball to round goalkeeper Conrad Logan in injury time and settle the outcome. Grecians frontman Stewart was a 66th-minute replacement for Richard Logan, having already announced it would be the last game of a 19-year career which began at opponents Rovers. Exeter were good value for the points as goalkeeper Logan made two fine saves from Jamie Cureton and Logan hit the top of the crossbar with a third-minute cross-shot. Exeter keeper Ben Hamer kept out Jo Kuffour's close-range effort with a foot in the 84th minute, while Danny Coles headed against the crossbar a minute later. Stewart remained on the field at the end to receive acclaim from both sets of fans and his Exeter team-mates formed a guard of honour by the tunnel to congratulate him as he left the field.
