A stirring second-half fight back enabled Chester to earn a draw as their League status was finally assured. Stewart Drummond was the two-goal hero as his strikes enabled his side to over come the 2-0 deficit they faced at half-time. The visitors had taken the lead somewhat against the run off play when an attempted shot by Aaron Lescott took a deflection sending it into the path of the unmarked Ryan Williams who rifled home. The advantage was doubled at the half-hour mark as goalscorer Williams made good progress down the left flank and crossed to the back post where Junior Agogo headed in from close range. Three minutes after the interval Chester should have hauled themselves back into the game as Drummond was clean through on goal but Clarke managed to push aside his goal bound efforts. Bristol then broke upfield and Richard Walker should have ended any lingering doubts about the outcome of the match when he arrived unmarked in the penalty area only to nod a free header wastefully over the bar. The visitors were given a nervous final half hour as Chester pulled a goal back with a precision finish by Drummond after good work by Ben Davies. They were then left in disbelief as their defence failed to clear Robbie Foy's right-wing cross and Drummond was on hand to poke the ball home for the leveller. A frantic finish saw Chester push for a winner with substitute Joe O'Neill missing the best chance and firing wide with only the keeper to beat.
