It's 7:45pm on Tuesday, September 26th, the match has kicked off.
Early and late goals gave Yeovil their third successive victory as they continued their climb up the League One table. But in between those strikes Russell Slade's men were not at their fluent best and Brighton had enough of the play to have salvaged something. Yeovil got off to a dream start with a sixth-minute goal from Marcus Stewart. The former Sunderland striker is on a three-month loan spell to the Glovers from Bristol City and he showed his qualities throughout, never more so than with his goal. He picked up the ball 22 yards out from Nathan Jones and hammered a drive that keeper Wayne Henderson never saw. Stewart has been linking up in attack with Lee Morris. The former Derby and Leicester striker has missed most of the past two seasons with career-threatening injuries and has been working his way back to fitness on a monthly contract. Just when there were talks of a longer deal, he was forced out of the match in the tenth minute with yet another injury. There was a consolation for Yeovil as substitute Wayne Gray got the second goal that clinched the points. It didn't arrive until the 83rd minute, but it was well worth waiting for. Midfielder Paul Terry started the move with a great pass to teenage powerhouse Chris Cohen and he stormed to the edge of the penalty area before laying the ball off to his right with a perfect pass for Gray. The ex-Southend man did well to fire low past Henderson's right hand. Although the match produced two great goals, there were not many other clear chances - certainly not from Brighton. Despite incessant attacks for the first 20 minutes of the second half they failed to find a way through a resolute defence in which Nathan Jones - a former Brighton player - worked as hard as ever. Georges Santos came as close as anyone with a powerful first-half header from a corner that flew over, while after the break Dean Hammond did find space to get in a shot, but it was straight at home keeper Steve Mildenhall. Yeovil almost got a third in the dying minutes when Stewart again tried his luck from distance, but this time Henderson's goal remained intact.
