Match Preview

Buckley boost for Brighton Will Buckley is set to return to the Brighton squad for the visit of Barnsley. But boss Gus Poyet will monitor the fitness of former Spain midfielder Vicente ahead of the clash. Winger Buckley has yet to figure this season due to a hamstring strain but is now fit and available to boost a Seagulls attack which has yet to find the back of the net so far. Vicente came off the bench during the second half of Tuesday's goalless draw with Cardiff but is still struggling with the groin problem he picked up against Swindon in the Capital One Cup and is doubtful. Forward Will Hoskins remains in the treatment room with the broken foot he suffered during pre-season. Barnsley midfielder David Perkins has joined the extensive early-season injury-list at Oakwell. Perkins was forced out of the midweek defeat at Wolves with a hamstring injury and replaced by Stephen Dawson, who is now likely to make his first start of the season. The Tykes' latest signing, Martin Cranie, could make his full debut in defence for the club after stepping off the substitutes' bench at Wolves. Manager Keith Hill has 10 first-team players currently sidelined through injury or suspension. Midfielders Matty Done (knee), Paul Digby and Jim McNulty, striker Mido, Toni Silva (all hamstring) and fellow winger Jim O'Brien (dislocated shoulder) are all still out. Luke Steele is still struggling with his long-term groin/stomach problem and fellow goalkeeper Ben Alnwick will sit out the final game of a three-match ban.
