Match Preview
El-Abd missing for Seagulls Brighton will be without Adam El-Abd when they take on FC United in the FA Cup second round. The defender was stretchered off after suffering a nasty gash to his thigh during the midweek goalless draw at Southampton and will be out for a fortnight. Tommy Elphick, who missed out at St Mary's through suspension, is available and could step in at centre-half. Midfielder Liam Bridcutt also returns from a ban following his recent red card at Hartlepool. Matt Sparrow (groin) and Alan Navarro (knee) are still missing and West Brom loanee Chris Wood is ineligible, so Glenn Murray will be recalled in attack. Boss Gus Poyet will rest some players again despite needing a replay and penalties to see off Woking in the first round. FC United manager Karl Marginson is hoping Kyle Jacobs can shake off a knock in time. Evostik League Premier Division side United, who upset local rivals Rochdale at Spotland in round one, have no other new injury or suspension worries, while Ben Deegan came through 45 minutes in Monday's game at Ashton and should be available. Marginson, still without long-term absentees Ludovic Quistin, Steve Torpey and Lee Neville, told Press Association Sport: "I imagine there could be changes because we've been asking lads to do jobs in different positions. "We'll definitely be looking to put round pegs in round holes for this one. Brighton have tremendous quality in their team and we will have to produce the same kind of display we did at Rochdale to be able to compete."

Match Report
Ashton keeps FC United alive Sam Ashton kept FC United in the FA Cup with a dramatic late penalty save as Brighton were held to a 1-1 draw in the second round tie at Withdean Stadium. Ashton kept out Elliott Bennett's spot-kick deep in stoppage-time to ensure the Evo-Stik Premier Division outfit will be in the draw for the third round. The visitors shocked the League One leaders when midfielder Nicky Platt drove them ahead six minutes before the break. FC United had defender Scott McManus sent off for an elbow on substitute Gary Hart in the 69th minute and held out until Mauricio Taricco levelled with a header which went in via a deflection off substitute Francisco Sandaza. Brighton could have won it in the fifth minute of stoppage time when Karl Munroe brought down Sandaza, but Bennett's spot-kick was brilliantly saved by keeper Ashton diving to his right. Ashton played a vital role in his side's gallant display by pulling off four superb saves before Platt's opener.
