Match Preview
Taricco back on the sidelines Mauricio Taricco will return to his role as Gus Poyet's assistant when Brighton host Bristol Rovers. Former Tottenham defender Taricco played his first competitive match in six years in Tuesday night's FA Cup replay at Woking, and was sent off in extra time before the Seagulls squeezed through on penalties. Taricco, therefore, serves a one-match ban while midfielder Liam Bridcutt is halfway through a three-match suspension following his red card at Hartlepool last weekend. Boss Poyet is looking for a loan replacement for broken ankle-victim Kazenga LuaLua but may not be able to get one in time. Goalkeeper Casper Ankergren, defenders Adam El-Abd and Marcos Painter and striker Glenn Murray were rested in midweek and are expected to be recalled. Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope will be without suspended defender Carl Regan for the trip. Regan was sent off in the Pirates` 3-0 defeat to Leyton Orient last weekend and serves the first game of his three-match suspension, while fellow loanee defender James Tunnicliffe is unavailable to play against his parent club. Trollope will have to shuffle his backline in the pair's absence, with Byron Anthony, Jeff Hughes and Gary Sawyer all likely to adopt roles in the Rovers defence. Will Hoskins is still sidelined with an ankle injury and needs at least another three weeks to regain his fitness while Charlie Reece is also unavailable due to a back injury. On-loan striker John Akinde is a major doubt for the trip with an ankle problem.

Match Report
Painter howler denies Seagulls A dramatic stoppage-time own-goal by defender Marcos Painter gave Bristol Rovers a deserved 2-2 draw against League One leaders Brighton at Withdean Stadium. Rovers struck in the second minute of added time when Painter put a corner from skipper Stuart Campbell into his own net. The Seagulls went behind midway through the first half when they failed to defend a corner from Campbell and a header by Byron Anthony was deflected in off Ashley Barnes. Brighton levelled when Jeff Hughes put through his own goal after Painter drove a cross into the six-yard box. Striker Chris Wood, signed on loan from West Brom and making his debut, put Brighton ahead 17 minutes from time from the penalty spot after Anthony brought down substitute Glenn Murray.
