Match Preview

Bees boosted by trio Brentford have added Robbie Neilson, Adam Reed and Nathan Byrne to their squad for the visit of Tranmere. Leicester full-back Neilson, Sunderland midfielder Reed and Tottenham defender Byrne have all agreed one-month loan deals at Griffin Park. Caretaker boss Nicky Forster has been further boosted by Charlie MacDonald's return to training after an ankle injury and the striker is in contention. Skipper Kevin O'Connor came off against MK Dons with a groin strain but he too will be fit so Sam Wood is the only injury absentee. The winger is recovering from a broken arm and expects to get the all-clear to resume training at the start of next month. The Bees have won two and drawn one of their three matches since Forster took over from Andy Scott. Tranmere boss Les Parry will again be without striker Dale Jennings for the trip. The highly-rated youngster is still troubled by a groin injury and will miss out for the fourth game in succession. Parry said: "Dale is not progressing very well, it looks like he's going to be out a little bit longer. "I'm going to have a chat with him later but he isn't responding well to treatment and still isn't able to train. "We'll have a little look at him and see if there's anything else we can do." Alan Mahon remains sidelined with a hamstring injury, while fellow midfielder Ryan Fraughan has damaged medial ligaments in his knee and will be out for several more weeks.

Match Report

Bees get late Legge-up Brentford defender Leon Legge's 90th-minute winner clinched maximum points in a 2-1 win over Tranmere and stretched caretaker-boss Nicky Forster's unbeaten run to four games. The big centre-back powered home a header from Sam Saunders' far post cross with just seconds remaining to earn the Bees a win that their possession deserved. They hit the visitors with the opening goal after just 75 seconds when many of the home fans were still struggling through gridlock west London traffic. Charlie MacDonald glanced home a left-wing Saunders' cross, which bounced in off the angle to give the Londoners the lead. Tranmere came back into the game as the half wore on, John Welsh testing home goalkeeper Richard Lee with an angled free-kick, which the keeper tipped wide. But the Wirrall side hit back after the break with the goal of the game, Joss Labadie smashing home a 35-yard pile-driver, which flew into the top corner. Brentford's Marcus Bean almost responded within a minute, but his curling drive from the edge of the box was palmed to safety by Tranmere goalkeeper Tony Warner and when Karleigh Osborne towered a header wide with just minutes remaining it looked like a draw, until Legge's late intervention.
