Match Preview
Keeper quandary for Scott Brentford manager Andy Scott has a goalkeeping dilemma for the visit of Rochdale. Reading loanee Alex McCarthy was ineligible to face Hull in the Carling Cup on Tuesday night so Richard Lee was handed his debut and made a string of fine saves as the Bees ran out 2-1 winners. Despite McCarthy being available again, Lee may now have done enough to keep hold of the shirt. Winger Sam Wood is still missing with a back injury and is not expected to return for at least another week so Scott could name an unchanged line-up. Striker Carl Cort was an unused substitute on Tuesday, the first time he has been involved this season having recovered from an Achilles injury. Rochdale boss Keith Hill is set to stick with the same side that performed so admirably in the 3-2 Carling Cup defeat against Birmingham on Thursday night. Hill will be hoping Dale's excellent performance at St. Andrews can inspire his newly-promoted side to their first League One victory of the season. Young midfielder Joe Thompson is the Lancashire club's only major injury doubt having missed the trip to Birmingham on Thursday. The 21-year-old picked up a knock in training during the week and faces a race against time prove his fitness. Veteran midfielder and captain Gary Jones will be looking to continue his fine early season form having already netted four goals in five games this season.

Match Report
Dale up and running League One newcomers Rochdale celebrated their first win of the season with a comfortable 3-1 success at Brentford. Anthony Elding gave the visitors the lead after 11 minutes when Bees keeper Alex McCarthy could only parry Andrew Tutte's long-range effort onto his head. Dale felt they should have been two up two minutes later when Jason Kennedy volleyed home from a tight angle only to see his effort ruled out for offside. The hosts clawed their way back into it just before the half-hour when Robbie Simpson started and finished a flowing move with a crisp finish from Myles Weston's left wing cross. But Keith Hill's side deservedly retook the lead on the hour when Chris O'Grady fired home into the bottom corner from the edge of the box at the end of a five-man one-touch move. Two minutes later it was three, Kennedy latching onto a right wing cross to fire home at the near post and celebrate with the travelling fans - an action which earned him a second yellow card and a sending off. But even with 10 men it was always Rochdale who looked more likely to score again, although Brentford did manage some lacklustre efforts on goal. Brentford's Weston flashed a 30-yard drive past the upright before substitute Carl Cort twice went close with headed efforts when he should have done better.
