    Match Preview

New Bees set for bow Adam Thompson and Saido Berahino will be in the Brentford squad for the visit of Oldham. Defender Thompson has rejoined the Bees on a one-month loan from Watford and striker Berahino arrives from West Brom via a spell with Northampton. Thompson has been brought in to provide competition for Shaleum Logan at right-back, although he can also play at centre-half, while Berahino provides another option to Gary Alexander and Clayton Donaldson in attack. Skipper Kevin O'Connor, who usually fills in at right-back, is still on the sidelines with a foot problem and centre-half Karleigh Osborne remains a doubt with a leg injury. Manager Uwe Rosler will come across his old Manchester City team-mate Paul Dickov in the opposing dug-out if the game survives the weather. Oldham captain Dean Furman will be assessed ahead of the trip. Furman has been absent from the Latics midfield for the past three games with a knee injury but is approaching full fitness. Zander Diamond remains sidelined with a hip injury, meaning 19-year-old James Tarkowski is set to continue in the centre of defence for Paul Dickov's side. Long-term injury victims Bradley Diallo (hamstring/pelvis) and Reuben Reid (thigh) are stepping up their rehabilitation and are a fortnight and a week away from returning to action respectively. The duo will come back amid a backlog of fixtures after games against Leyton Orient and Stevenage were postponed over the past week, and boss Dickov admits the extra recovery time afforded to his injury victims is one of the few plus points provided by the recent cold snap. "The lay-off does help the injured players," he said. "We are down to the bare bones at the minute. We had 16 training the other day and 14 on Thursday morning."
