Match Preview

Scott may make changes Brentford manager Andy Scott may have to make a couple of enforced changes to his starting line-up for the visit of Bournemouth. Right-back Michael Spillane came off during Saturday's 4-2 win over Exeter with what Scott described as "a dead backside". Former Coventry defender Stephen Wright, who joined the Bees as a free agent last week, made his debut as Spillane's replacement and could now be in line to start. Scott also took off striker Gary Alexander and defender Leon Legge, who were tiring on top of their 120-minute Carling Cup exertions against Birmingham in the week. Fit-again loanee Robbie Simpson (hamstring) and previously out-of-favour centre-half David McCracken came on in their places and may have also earned starting spots. Striker Carl Cort (Achilles) is still on the sidelines. Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe could be without the services of striker Ryan Garry for a second successive game but will have youngster Harry Arter fit and available to start. Garry missed the Cherries first home defeat in 16 matches, a 2-1 loss against Colchester, with a knee injury and is unlikely to return in time to face the Bees. Howe must decide whether to continue with Shaun Cooper or whether to recall Lee Bradbury to the side. Arter is fit again after returning to first team action as a 78th-minute substitute against Colchester following a hernia operation and could go into the starting line-up. Bournemouth will be hoping to return to winning ways following a run of only one win in five attempts which has left them trailing league leaders Brighton by nine points.

Match Report

Grabban on the spot for Bees Substitute Lewis Grabban ended Brentford's penalty jinx with a second-half strike to earn his side a 1-1 draw with high-flying Bournemouth. The striker's first touch - a low spot-kick into the bottom corner - earned the Londoners a point after Danny Hollands had given the visitors a 64th-minute lead. Grabban was given the penalty duties after Brentford missed two spot-kicks in their 4-2 win over Exeter at the weekend. He struck three minutes after Hollands had given the Cherries the lead when he glanced home Rhoys Wiggins' free-kick at the near post. The visitors dominated in the early stages but it was Charlie MacDonald who went closest on the half hour when he drilled a low drive against the outside of the post. Liam Feeney, Josh McQuoid and Wiggins wasted good chances to win the clash for Eddie Howe's team with some wayward finishing.
