Duo still missing for Brechin Defender Paul McLean and midfielder Charlie King remain sidelined by injury as second-placed Brechin entertain Airdrie. Midfield dynamo Jamie Redman is a doubt as he continues to struggle with the back injury that ruled him out of the goalless draw with champions-elect Livingston at the weekend. Glebe Park manager Jim Weir said: "Airdrie United will make things very difficult for us as they are in good form just now and have a chance of getting into the play-offs themselves. "While a win would keep us in the league race, mathematically I would reckon Livingston will still win the Second Division. "We did well against them in the second half on Saturday and it will be a case of starting where we finished that one against Airdrie." Airdrie will be bolstered by the return of experienced campaigner Paul Lovering after a ban for the game. However, former Dundee United youngster Craig Hill remains sidelined with a fractured cheekbone. Airdrie scored four times in the first half at Balmoor during their 4-2 win against Peterhead at the weekend. And manager Jimmy Boyle said: "A repeat of our first half at Peterhead would be great. Brechin need the points just as much as we do for their own purposes, so we need to be at our best again." Boyle is not overly interested in promotion play-off claims at the moment, adding: "Brechin will be a really tough match for us and at the moment we are still looking at what is happening beneath us more than what is happening above us."

Play-off lift for Airdrie Airdrie gave their Division Two play-off hopes a boost with a hard-fought 2-1 win at second-placed Brechin. The Diamonds are now just two points behind Forfar, who occupy the last play-off place. The visitors took the lead in the 32nd minute when Brechin defender Gerard McLauchlan unfortunately turned the ball past goalkeeper Craig Nelson and into his own net. David McKenna levelled matters just two minutes after the restart with a calm finish from 12 yards after on-loan Aberdeen striker Mitchel Megginson's initial effort had been blocked by Scott Gemmill. Airdrie striker Ryan Donnelly wrapped up the points in the 56th minute with a well-struck effort from 20 yards which flew into the bottom corner.
