Match Preview

Taylor prepares for Wycombe reunion Bradford's new loan signing Kevin Ellison will be included in their squad for the home clash with manager Peter Taylor's former club Wycombe. Rotherham striker Ellison has joined the Bantams in a swap deal, with Bradford winger Omar Daley going in the opposite direction until the end of the season. Another recent signing, striker Scott Dobie, is also in line for his City debut after arriving last week from St Johnstone in time for the postponed game at Macclesfield. Skipper Simon Ramsden is hoping to make his first appearance since August at right-back after being sidelined due to a hip/calf injury, with Richard Eckersley having returned to parent club Burnley earlier this week. Central defender Steve Williams was back in full training this week for the first time since January following a hamstring injury and is also set to boost Taylor's squad as Bradford chase their first win in seven league matches. Wycombe defender Dave Winfield will return for the encounter. Centre-half Winfield has missed the last two games through suspension after picking up 10 yellow cards but is back in contention to face the Bantams while fellow defender Alan Bennett is back from a calf strain. Left-back Andy Sandell has been ruled out for up to six weeks with a medial knee ligament injury. The 27-year-old recently underwent a scan on the injury he picked up in the 1-0 win over Rotherham on January 22 which has revealed the full extent of the problem. Striker Scott Rendell returned last week after almost a month out with an ankle injury and fellow forward Jon-Paul Pittman is back in the fold after a lengthy spell out with a knee injury. Wanderers have only been beaten twice in the last 11 games, winning eight on their way to second place.

Match Report

Ellison makes instant impact Winger Kevin Ellison's debut goal earned Bradford a 1-0 win over Wycombe. Ellison joined City on loan from Rotherham in midweek, with Omar Daley moving in the opposite direction and his goal secured a first win in seven attempts to lift the pressure off former Wycombe boss Peter Taylor. Ellison arrived at the far post to apply the finish after Michael Flynn's throw was drilled to the far post by Luke O'Brien. The scorer was booked for removing his shirt in celebration. Taylor also handed a debut to striker Scott Dobie, on loan from St Johnstone. O'Brien made a goal-line clearance to prevent Chris Westwood giving Wycombe a 16th-minute lead and three minutes later Bradford lost striker James Hanson to injury. Bradford goalkeeper Lenny Pidgley made an acrobatic save from Stuart Lewis to keep the first half goalless but after Ellison had struck the vital blow, promotion chasers Wycombe should have equalised when substitute Matt McClure somehow headed over the bar from eight yards.
