Match Preview

Double boost for Bantams Lee Hendrie and Tom Adeyemi will both return to Bradford's squad for the home clash with Oxford. Hendrie, who missed last week's defeat at Burton due to a hamstring strain, is expected to start, while Adeyemi (ankle) is likely to be named on the bench. Jason Price, on loan from Carlisle, or James Hanson will make way for Hendrie, with Omar Daley switching back to a more central role up front. Manchester United defenders Oliver Gill and Reece Brown have both returned to Old Trafford, so Luke Oliver will return to central defence and Zesh Rehman at right-back. Shane Duff is ruled out as he has suffered a setback in his return from an Achilles injury and long-term absentees Michael Flynn (hernia), Simon Ramsden (calf), Gareth Evans (fractured wrist) and Robbie Threlfall (back) remain sidelined. Oxford should welcome Damian Batt back into the squad for the trip. The defender has not played since the end of August after suffering an ankle injury, but he is back to full fitness and played for the reserves in midweek. On-loan midfielder Josh Payne is set to continue in boss Chris Wilder's plans after agreeing a pre-contractual agreement with the Us on a two-and-a-half-year deal. Oxford bounced back from two consecutive defeats last week when they beat lowly Northampton, and Wilder could keep faith with the same team at Valley Parade. Jake Wright returned in that game with the Cobblers following an injury, and after coming through unscathed, he will again feature.

Match Report

Three off in Bradford romp Bradford scored five goals and three players were sent off in an extraordinary second half at Valley Parade as Oxford were thumped 5-0. Jamaican international Omar Daley broke the deadlock after 48 minutes with a low right foot shot after striker James Hanson had headed the ball into his path and then increased Bradford's lead nine minutes later with a superb left foot shot into the far corner. Lee Hendrie added a third with a twice-taken penalty in the 66th minute after Hanson had been fouled. Ryan Clarke saved his first spot kick, but the referee ruled that the goalkeeper had moved and ordered the penalty to be retaken. Three players were then sent off in the 71st minute - Oxford defender Mark Creighton for tripping Daley - - his second bookable offence - and Hanson and fellow visiting defender Jake Wright followed him to the dressing room for their part in the ensuing brawl. Substitute David Syers added a fourth goal in the 87th minute, volleying the ball into the far corner from Luke O'Brien's cross and fellow substitute Louis Moult scored a fifth in stoppage time with a low 20-yard shot as Bradford took advantage of their numerical superiority.
