Match Preview

Loan duo set for debuts Bradford's new loan signings from Manchester United, Reece Brown and Oliver Gill, will both be included in City's squad for home clash with Morecambe. Manager Peter Taylor could hand a start to teenager Brown, while Gill is expected to be among the substitutes. Taylor has no new injury or suspension worries, but defenders Lewis Hunt (knee) and Robbie Threlfall (back) are still out, with the former expected to be sidelined for up to two months. Winger Leon Osborne missed out in midweek through illness and will be hoping to force his way back into the squad, but midfielder Michael Flynn (double hernia) and striker James Hanson (hamstring) are both at least a fortnight away from a return to first-team action. Skipper Simon Ramsden has suffered a setback in his rehabilitation from a calf injury and remains a long-term absentee. Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy is likely to be without defensive duo Will Haining and Chris McCready. The pair left the 2-2 draw with Barnet last weekend in the first half with hamstring problems and are expected to remain sidelined for another week at least and therefore, will not feature for the second successive game after missing the 4-1 defeat against Bury. Paul Scott and Craig Stanley could be set to continue but McIlroy may look at other options after expressing his anger at the way his side were defeated in midweek and Laurence Wilson could be given an opportunity to shine at the back following a short substitute appearance. Adam Rundle and James Spencer will be hoping for starts after also being given an opportunity to make an impression.

Match Report

Shrimps pile misery on Bradford The shoddy finishing which has hampered Bradford from the season's start was evident again as they went down to a 1-0 home defeat against fellow strugglers Morecambe. Bradford, who gave debuts to young Manchester United defenders Reece Brown and Oliver Gill, should have led as early as the second minute when Lee Hendrie shot over an open goal after Omar Daley's cross hit the far post. Morecambe took a 23rd-minute lead with the softest of goals. Mark Duffy crossed from the right at the second attempt and poor marking left striker Paul Mullin the simple task of side-footing the ball past Jon McLaughlin. Luke Oliver wasted a glorious chance for Bradford by heading over the bar and just before half-time Adam Rundle hit the angle of post and bar for Morecambe. Duffy, Rundle, Andrew Fleming and substitute Scott Brown all went close to increasing the Shrimps' lead. Bradford have now gone three matches without scoring as manager Peter Taylor's search for attacking reinforcements grows ever more urgent.
