Match Preview

Bradford's new loan signing Jason Price is expected to go straight into the starting line-up for the home clash with Cheltenham. Bantams manager Peter Taylor hopes the the former Hull, Doncaster and Millwall striker, who arrived from Carlisle on an initial month's loan this week, is the answer to City's goalscoring problems. Fellow forwards Jake Speight and Louis Moult hope to return - James Hanson is likely to start on the bench again after his long-term hamstring problem - with Omar Daley reverting back to the wing after playing a more central role last weekend at Barnet. Taylor now has the option of utilising stand-in striker Luke Oliver as a central defender, while another centre-half, Shane Duff, is available again after missing the win at Barnet with a calf strain. Reece Brown, on loan from Manchester United, is back in contention following a knee injury, but Michael Flynn (hernia), Simon Ramsden (calf), Gareth Evans (fractured wrist) and Robbie Threlfall (back) all remain sidelined. Cheltenham will be without leading goalscorer Wes Thomas for the trip. The striker has missed the club`s last three games due to the thigh muscle tear sustained against Oxford and has been making use of an oxygen chamber to try and aid his recovery, although he is looking at another couple of weeks on the sidelines. Midfielder Frankie Artus (fractured fibula) returned to full training this week, with defender Martin Riley (hamstring) expected to do so at the start of next week, yet Saturday`s clash at Valley Parade comes too soon for him. But there is positive news for manager Mark Yates with the expected return of midfielder JJ Melligan following his hamstring strain. The high-flying Robins travel to Yorkshire looking to secure a third successive victory and clean sheet against a Bantams side at the wrong end of the table albeit boosted by their 2-0 win at Barnet last weekend.

Match Report

Bantams on song again Second-half goals from acting captain Lee Hendrie and striker James Hanson earned Bradford their second win in a row after they came from behind to beat Cheltenham 3-1 at Valley Parade The visitors went ahead after seven minutes when Brian Smikle found Josh Low unmarked in the penalty box and he beat keeper Jon McLaughlin with a low shot into the far corner. However, the home side hit back well and deservedly equalised after 32 minutes when David Syers scored with a diving header from Luke O'Brien's cross. Hendrie, the former England and Aston Villa midfield player, then put Bradford in front with a neat overhead kick following a smart four-man move after 74 minutes. Hanson put the result beyond doubt three minutes from the end with a 25-yard shot just inside the near post.
