Match Report

Managerless Millwall increased the pressure on Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond with a convincing 2-1 win at The Den.

The Lions triumphed courtesy of goals from Jamie O'Hara on 33 and Will Hoskins after 55 minutes. The Cherries hit back with a Lee Bradbury header in the dying moments of stoppage time.

But this was not enough to save the visitors and they remain bottom of League One.

Millwall dominated the opening half and thought they had claimed and early lead on 13 minutes, when Paul Robinson latched on to Dave Brammer's long-range header into the box. But the skipper's glancing header from close range was ruled out for offside.

This did not deter the Lions, though, and they surged ahead on 33 minutes. The visitors failed to clear their lines, as Jay Simpson and Hoskins charged forward.

The ball broke to Jamie O'Hara, who fired a precision curling shot home from 20 yards.

The South Londoners took charge again at the start of the second 45 minutes. Alan Dunne and Hoskins both missed golden opportunities, after being sent racing through on goal in the opening stages.

But the Lions made their possession count on 55 minutes, when Simpson's long ball from the right put Gary Alexander through.

His shot was straight at Neil Moss but the Cherries goalkeeper could only parry it to Hoskins, who side-footed home with ease.

The Cherries turned up the heat on their hosts late in the game. It took them until four minutes into stoppage time to find the net though, courtesy of striker Bradbury.

The former Portsmouth man's header from Jo Kuffour's cross barely crossed the line, but the linesman's decision to award to goal was not enough to save Bournemouth and leaves boss Bond's job in jeopardy.
