Lee Steele grabbed an injury-time winner to end battling Bournemouth's brave comeback. Orient had dominated the first half and led through Gary Alexander's strike before half-time, but the visitors who had not scored all season, struck twice in five minutes. James Hayter and Stephen Cooke looked to have turned the game on its head before Steele struck twice to earn Orient their second home win in the space of four days. It was the home side who dominated the first half as midfield pair Craig Easton and Michael Simpson took a vice-like grip. So it came as no surprise when Orient took the lead. Simpson fed Tudor and his right-wing cross was met by Alexander but when Stewart clawed away his header the Orient striker knocked the rebound home from point-blank range. But after the break it was Bournemouth who bounced back and turned the game on its head with a deadly two-goal blast. First Cooke played a great ball in for the ever dangerous Hayter who headed home from close range to stun the home side. It was Bournemouth's first goal of the season and they did not have to wait long for their second when Cooke drilled the ball home from 12 yards. But Orient rediscovered their first-half form and were back on terms five minutes later when Steele found himself in space in the six-yard box and headed home Lockwoods left-wing corner. Steele missed a great chance to wrap things up as did Orient substitute Wayne Corden when he fired over. But it was Orient who wrapped up the points two minutes into stoppage time when home substitute Donny Barnard raced forward and fed Steele with a perfect ball which he slotted past Stewart into the corner of the net.
