Goal!! Hartlepool have scored with Ian Moore putting it in the back of the net.
Goal!! Bournemouth have scored with James Henry putting it in the back of the net.
It's 4pm on Sunday, November 18th, the match has kicked off.
Injury-hit Bournemouth battled their way to a valuable away point with a hard-working display that frustrated dominant Hartlepool. The home team had most of the possession and chances, but in a tight game they could not find the breakthrough they needed. James Henry, one of five teenagers in the Bournemouth line-up, blasted them in front with a rising shot from the edge of the area on 16 minutes. The home team should have been level soon after when Richie Barker got on the end of a right-wing cross from Ali Gibb, but despite being only yards from goal, he did not connect with the ball properly and the chance was lost. But Hartlepool equalised four minutes before the break when Joel Porter's great pass over the Bournemouth defence gave Ian Moore the chance to score his seventh goal of the season after a great run from a deep position. Hartlepool thought they should have had a penalty early in the second half, but play was waved on when Josh Gowling appeared to handle as he cleared a James Brown shot off the line. In the closing minutes, the home side should have won the game but, after racing clear from his own half, substitute David Foley was inches wide, and defender Michael Nelson was equally as close with a header from a free-kick. Bournemouth had earlier had a couple of chances, too. But Jem Karacan missed with a ten-yard header that went over the bar and Danny Hollands sent his shot straight into the arms of Jan Budtz when anywhere else and he would have scored. At the end of the game, Bournemouth had six 18-year-olds on the pitch, but they had run their legs off for the result.
