Match Preview
Bolton Wanderers host Everton at the Reebok Stadium with both sides looking for a victory as they try to move up the Premier League table.
The Trotters suffered their first loss in five last time out, but they put in a creditable performance in their 2-1 defeat at Manchester United.
That left manager Gary Megson to enthuse: "There were things about our performance at Old Trafford that were terrific.
"We lost 2-0 last year when we came to soak up the pressure, get men behind the ball and a penalty cost us.
"I said to the players, we've got a different team now - more legs, more capability to take the game to United but, when we do that, you have to defend a lot more strongly than we did. We were a little bit powder-puff."
Megson has several injury absentees, with Andy O'Brien (groin), Sean Davis (knee) and Johan Elmander (hamstring) all currently sidelined.
Everton have won only three of their eight league games to date and last time out they were fortunate to secure a 1-1 draw at home to Wolves.
David Moyes' men had been expected to challenge for a possible top-four finish this season, but the Toffees have struggled to hit top form consistently.
Moyes said after last weekend's stalemate: "I'm concerned. I think that, in the last two matches, we've created enough chances to win both games quite comfortably and you just can't keep missing those.
"It happens, but I don't think we could play any better, considering that we're playing much better than we were."
The Toffees are hoping to be boosted by the return of midfield playmaker Steven Pienaar following a knee injury, but Phil Neville, Phil Jagielka, Victor Anichebe and Mikel Arteta are all sidelined by knee problems of their own.

Match Report
Ivan Klasnic grabbed an 86th minute winner to secure Bolton's first Premier League victory at the Reebok since April.
The Croatia striker fired home his first goal for the club after coming off the bench against injury-hit Everton.
David Moyes' side looked to have earned a point after fighting back from 2-0 down.
But Klasnic popped up late on to earn his side three points on Gary Megson's second anniversary in charge at Wanderers.
Tamir Cohen nearly gave Bolton a dream start when he headed just wide inside the first two minutes.
Kevin Davies then went close with a header of his own before Chung-Yong Lee fired the hosts into the lead on 16 minutes.
Sam Ricketts did well to get a cross over and the South Korean finished with aplomb.
Jo nearly snatched a fortunate equaliser on 24 minutes when his cross clipped the top of the crossbar but, instead, it was Bolton who doubled their advantage three minutes later.
Everton had looked unsteady under the high ball and when Matt Taylor lofted a free-kick into the area, Gary Cahill rose above Sylvain Distin to plant a superb header past Tim Howard.
But the Merseysiders were back in it on 32 minutes when the Wanderers defenders backed off Louis Saha and the Frenchman made them pay when he smashed a 25-yard rocket into the top corner.
Megson's men were guilty of sitting back and inviting Everton forward and on 56 minutes, Marouane Fellaini rifled home from a tight angle after running on to Tony Hibbert's ball forward.
Dan Gosling wasted a great chance to put Everton ahead when he raced through on goal but the youngster dithered instead of shooting and Fabrice Muamba was able to get back and make a vital interception.
And that proved costly as Klasnic pounced after Zat Knight's free-kick had dropped to him inside the area with four minutes left.
