Match Report
Pick and mix manager Blackpool Ian Holloway got his recipe right at half-time, as the Seasiders saw off Sheffield United 3-0.
His seven changes made for Saturday's victory over Plymouth were followed by another seven changes against the Blades.
Holloway fielded a completely new midfield which did not let him down, but when Wales international David Vaughan and Scotland cap Charlie Adam made their entrance at the break, the match was turned on its head.
Kevin Blackwell's side had recovered form a shaky start to dominate the late stages of the first half.
But it was a grip they swiftly lost as a series of Blackpool corners provided near misses for the home side until the 60th minute, when Vaughan's beautifully flighted effort was met at the far post by Marcel Seip who powered a 12-yard header past Mark Bunn.
Nine minutes later Neal Eardley put in a lovely cross which Jason Euell clipped home.
Adam almost caught out Bunn with an audacious 40-yard lob, but on 80 minutes he made no mistake when he was set up on the edge of the box by Jay Thomas and the Scot beat Bunn with a low drive into the corner.
In the first half the Blades - who are now recovering from a massive injury list - started with a long ball game. This proved to be unsuccessful and they joined Blackpool in a short passing tactic which suited the swirling wind.
However, Blackwell's side looked short of ideas in front of goal where Richard Cresswell gave little support to the hard-working Darius Henderson.
It was Henderson who created United's best two chances, but both times his efforts were saved at full stretch by Matt Gilks.
