Sheffield Wednesday came from behind with two goals in five minutes to snatch a priceless win and ease the pressure on under-fire manager Brian Laws.
The boos rang around Hillsborough as the Yorkshire side trailed at half-time as Wednesday looked close to their second home defeat in four days.
But striker Marcus Tudgay and defender Richard Hinds scored at the double midway through the second half to snatch the points.
Wednesday should have been in front after six minutes when Blackpool survived as the home side failed to cash in with a double chance.Jermaine Johnson fed Tudgay and his astute angled pass triggered Akpo Sodje, who cut in from the side and lashed a fierce angled shot that Paul Rachubka parried.
Tudgay was quick to react and drilled a low shot from the follow up with the Blackpool keeper stranded, but skipper Shaun Barker was covering to clear off the line.
And Wednesday were within a whisker of grabbing the lead after 23 minutes when Burton O'Brien's curling corner cannoned off Blackpool defender Kaspars Gorkss forcing a super reaction save from Rachubka.
But eight minutes before half-time Blackpool struck and punished the home side.
Wednesday dithered at the back as Keigan Parker and Wes Hoolahan exchanged passes looking for an opening as the home defence stood off.
Eventually Hoolahan spotted a gap and let fly with left-foot shot that squeezed inside Lee Grant's left-hand post as the keeper was unsighted.
Wednesday, still smarting from the half time jeers, responded impressively and when Johnson swung in an immaculate cross from the right, Tudgay crowned it with an excellent header after 66 minutes.
It spurred on the home side and substitute Deon Burton went close before O'Brien's corner brought a powerful header from Hinds for the winner.
And it prompted huge support for manager Laws from, who responded by applauding the home fans.
