Match Report

Bolton Wanderers will be looking to continue their impressive home form with a victory over fierce local rivals Blackburn Rovers.

Without an away win all season, the Trotters will need to continue to pick up points at the Reebok Stadium to achieve survival, beginning with three points over their Lancashire foes.

After a poor start to the season, which saw Wanderers win only one of their first 13 Premier League games, home wins, which started with victory against Manchester United in Gary Megson's first game in charge, have seen them climb out of the relegation places.

The African Cup of Nations has claimed the services of Abdoulaye Meite and El Hadji Diouf for up to a month.

Bolton also continue to be without injured duo Heider Helguson and Ricardo Vaz Te, while Israel international Tamir Cohen may make his league debut.

Blackburn on the other hand have had somewhat of a slump of late, with only three wins in the last 13 games in all competitions.

Meanwhile, the FA Cup third round thrashing at the hands of Coventry City at the weekend has seen Rovers slide down the table.

After six straight wins, the Championship side hammered a strong Blackburn side 4-1 on Saturday, with this humiliation denting Rovers' confidence even more.

Blackburn have lost South Africa captain Aaron Mokoena to the tournament in Ghana, but striker Benni McCarthy remains available due to a fall out with his national manager.

Elsewhere, Steven Reid and Roque Santa Cruz could return if they shake off a calf strain and groin strain respectively, but Brett Emerton, Jason Roberts and Andre Ooijer look set to miss out.

The referee will also be under close scrutiny this time out after four penalties in the two clashes last season.

At Ewood Park, Rovers missed two penalties in a heated game that Bolton won by a 1-0 scoreline.

However, McCarthy made amends at the Reebok by converting two penalties to give Rovers a 2-0 victory.
