Depleted defence for Berwick Berwick will be without on-loan winger Ross Gray for their clash with league leaders Stranraer at Shielfield. Gray has a hamstring injury that has ruled him out of the contest and joins defenders Chris McLeod and Elliot Smith on the sidelines. Player-manager Ian Little will also not be able to feature because of a back injury, and the Berwick boss is expecting an open, attacking encounter. "Stranraer are going well and, like us, they like to play in a really attacking fashion but hopefully, whatever the score is, we get one more than them," he said. "A win would get us closer to them in terms of promotion and, with Alloa and Annan playing, it would be a great day to pick up three points." Scottish Third Division leaders Stranraer are again without midfielder Chris Aitken due to a broken bone in his foot. However, Stair Park manager Keith Knox has a fully-fit squad with the exception of Aitken, and the Stranraer boss is looking forward to the clash. He said: "We did well to win last week at Montrose to move back to the top of the table. It would be great to repeat that at Berwick but I do feel that we need to tighten up defensively to do so. "Montrose had chances last week that they never took and we may get punished more severely if Berwick's strikers are on form. We are very good going forward but we need to be a bit better defensively."

Malcom earns Blues point A 75th-minute Craig Malcolm strike earned promotion-chasing Stranraer a late point in a 2-2 draw at Berwick. The visitors had earlier taken the lead, Malcolm setting up Stuart McColm to score his eighth league goal of the season in the sixth minute. Berwick almost made an immediate response when Damon Gray's header hit the post three minutes later and were soon back on level terms when Steven Notman tapped in from close range after 10 minutes. Ian Little's side then took the lead thanks to Lee Currie's thunderous 30-yard free-kick which found the top corner in the 32nd minute. The Borderers were unable to hold on to their advantage, however, Malcolm racing on to John Kane's assist before coolly finishing past Jamie Barclay in the Berwick goal.
