Gribben could return Berwick boss Jimmy Crease is hoping striker Darren Gribben will be fit enough to play against Annan. Gribben returned to training on Thursday night following a thigh strain which forced him to miss the goalless draw at East Stirling. Crease also has Steve Notman available following a ban but goalkeeper Mark Peat is suspended, with Ian McCaldon set to take his place, and midfielder Stuart Callaghan remains out with an ankle knock. Crease said: "It will be a last-minute decision on Darren but it would be great if he was available as we missed his goal threat last weekend. "Annan are doing really well just now and have good strikers of their own in Ian Harty and David Cox so it would be good if Darren is available to us." Annan goalkeeper Greg Kelly is still unavailable due to work commitments. Striker Graeme Bell is also absent as he continues his recovery from groin surgery during the summer. The Black and Golds can move ahead of their table-topping hosts with a win and manager Harry Cairney has asked his men for the same again after defeating Clyde and Queen's Park in their last two outings. Cairney said: "They were good wins for us and I have asked the players to keep doing what they have been doing when we pop over the border. "Berwick have been flying for most of the season but if we play like we have been then we will do okay."

Match Report

Steele steals Annan point Jack Steele's 90th-minute strike earned Annan a 2-2 draw with Berwick. Berwick opened the scoring as early as the first minute when Darren Gribben scored from 20 yards. Annan equalised after 25 minutes when Steven Sloan beat the keeper from 18 yards before Gribben put Berwick back in front five minutes later with a stunning 25-yard free-kick that flew into the top corner of the net. Berwick were down to ten men for much of the second-half as David Greenhill was sent off after 58 minutes for his second bookable offence. The Borderers squandered the chance to go top of the table after Steele headed in Lewis Sloan's cross from six yards in the dying moments to earn Athletic a point.
