Match Preview

Tykes to give Seagulls some Hassell Barnsley defender Bobby Hassell could return from the wilderness to play some part against Brighton. The experienced defender has not played since January, but has recovered from his latest setback after recently injuring a knee in training and manager Keith Hill has hinted at a cameo role in the last game of the season. Winger Matty Done has returned to training and is hoping to shake off the hamstring injury that has kept him out of the last five matches. Defenders Scott Golbourne (groin) and Rob Edwards (dead-leg) are unlikely to be in contention. Hill could be tempted to include several of his young players, with defender John Stones and striker Danny Rose hoping to feature, but teenage midfielder Paul Digby is struggling with an ankle injury. The Tykes are one place above the drop zone, but are seven points clear and were guaranteed npower Championship football next season after last week's results went their way. Brighton will be without Gordon Greer and Ryan Harley. Skipper Greer is being rested again due to an abdominal injury so Lewis Dunk will keep his place at centre-half. Winger Harley is struggling with tendonitis and will also not be risked. Striker Will Hoskins is back from his loan spell at Sheffield United early due to a hernia problem and defender Tommy Elphick remains a long-term absentee with an Achilles injury. Boss Gus Poyet has vowed to play his strongest team for the final-day clash so former Spain midfielder Vicente Rodriguez should play. The 31-year-old is out of contract this summer but Brighton are hopeful of persuading him to stay on the south coast.
