Match Preview

Bees ready to unleash Dunleavy Barnet will add rookie defender John Dunleavy to their squad for the visit of Shrewsbury. The 19-year-old right-back arrived at Underhill on loan from Wolves on Wednesday and is in line for an immediate debut. Temporary boss Paul Fairclough moved for Dunleavy after George Francomb returned to Norwich last weekend at the end of his successful loan stint. Fairclough will also be without winger Craig Dobson and striker Kevin Gallen, whose spells at the club came to an end this week. New signing Liam O'Brien was preferred to Jake Cole in goal in last weekend's win at Bradford and should keep his place. Forward Steve Kabba needs a late check on a knee problem while defenders Daniel Leach and Darren Dennehy (both foot) remain on the sidelines. Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner could hand new loan signing Jermaine Grandison his debut. The 20-year-old Coventry centre-back, who has already enjoyed two successful spells with Tranmere this season, has signed an initial one-month loan at the Greenhous Stadium and could be thrown straight into the starting line-up. However, having had no time to train with his new club, Grandison may have to settle for a place on the bench. Full-back David Raven will be missing for the Shrews after irritating a hip injury in training this week. The 25-year-old played through the injury in the 3-1 defeat to Morecambe but pulled up during training in midweek and could now face up to three months on the sidelines if surgery is required. Craig Disley, who has also been suffering from a hip problem, has returned to full training but is not expected to feature.

Match Report

Taylor earns Bees point Charlie Taylor's last-minute leveller grabbed a point for strugglers Barnet as Shrewsbury's winless streak extended to five in the 1-1 draw at Underhill. A Mark Hughes own goal looked like handing the promotion-chasing Shrews all the points but Taylor raced through at the death to secure Paul Fairclough's men a valuable point. The hosts started the stronger and might have taken the lead early on but Clovis Kamdjo's towering header was superbly kept out by Shrews stopper Chris Neal. The visitors' first opportunity came midway through the first half but Craig Disley fired over the bar when Barnet keeper Liam O'Brien dropped the ball. But the Shrews made no mistake when Hughes prodded past Neal after a scramble in the Bees penalty box after Jordan Parkes had been robbed of possession. The visitors were much improved after the break and wasted a number of chances to double their lead - a Mark Wright free-kick fizzed just wide before he shot across the face of goal on 63 minutes. And Shrewsbury were made to pay when Dean Holden squandered possession and Taylor scampered through on Neal before showing nerves of steel to roll the ball home and secure the Bees a point.
