Match Preview

Duo back for Bees Barnet welcome back Jordan Parkes and Mark Byrne for the visit of Northampton. Parkes will be recalled at left-back after missing Tuesday's narrow FA Cup defeat at Charlton through suspension. On-loan Nottingham Forest midfielder Byrne also sat out at The Valley with a slight knee injury but the Bees are confident he will be fit. Striker Izale McLeod made his long-awaited debut as a substitute in midweek after just one day of training having recovered from knee surgery and he will be involved again. Winger Glenn Poole is still out with an ankle injury and forward Danny Kelly will be sidelined for another month with a hamstring problem. Defenders Darren Dennehy and Daniel Leach (both foot) remain long-term absentees. Northampton manager Ian Sampson will have Abdul Osman in his side. Midfielder Osman was sent-off against Port Vale last weekend, but the club appealed the decision successfully and he is available to keep his place alongside Nathaniel Wedderburn in the middle. Striker Leon McKenzie is set to return from a thigh injury to boost Sampson`s options and could replace on-loan Leicester forward Craig King in the starting XI. Defender Marcus Hall is now fit after a groin strain, but cannot force his way back into the side at the moment, while striker Tadhg Purcell remains out for the season after he suffered serious knee ligament damage in August. Midfielder Ryan Gilligan missed the goalless draw with Vale last week but has recovered from his knee twinge and will be in contention.

Match Report

Kabba sinks shocking Cobblers Steve Kabba struck twice as Barnet came from behind to hammer 10-man Northampton 4-1 and climb off the bottom of the Football League. Leon McKenzie had fired the visitors into a sixth-minute lead but they were down to 10 men just two minutes later as Liam Davis saw red. Kabba tucked away a penalty before grabbing a second and Grant Basey and Ricky Holmes struck in the second-half for a comfortable victory.. Northampton's opener came after Anwar Uddin failed to deal with a long punt upfield by goalkeeper Chris Dunn, allowing McKenzie to slide home. But the game quickly turned on its head as Davis brought Kabba down in the box and was given his marching orders - the striker brushing himself off to convert from the spot. Kevin Gallen missed a golden opportunity to put the home side ahead before Kabba nodded home a Mark Marshall cross just before half-time to show him how it was done. Basey then made it 3-1 minutes into the second-half - opening his account for the season with a superb free-kick. Jake Cole was rarely tested in the Barnet goal but was called upon to keep Dean Beckwith's point-blank header out before Holmes powered home in injury time for a convincing win.
