Match Preview

Triple worry for Bees Michael Hector, Jack Saville and Charlie Taylor are injury doubts for Barnet ahead of the visit of Cheltenham. Hector missed last Friday's narrow defeat at Torquay with a shin injury, fellow defender Saville has a foot problem and striker Taylor is struggling with ankle trouble. Darren Dennehy replaced Hector in defence at Plainmoor after three weeks out with a calf injury and came through unscathed, so he should keep his place. Ricky Holmes has made three substitute appearances following a month out with a knee injury and is pushing for a start, but fellow striker Steve Kabba remains a long-term absentee with a knee problem. Former Cheltenham forward Lloyd Owusu is back from a loan spell at Hayes but is unlikely to figure. Cheltenham will be without the suspended Russ Penn for the trip. Midfielder Penn has been an intergal part of the Robins side that has risen to third place in npower League Two, but the 26-year-old picked up his fifth booking of the season in the 3-0 victory over Southend last weekend and serves a one-match ban. On-loan midfielder Bobby Reid could take advantage of Penn's absence. The Bristol City man has not yet had a significant stab at establishing himself in the first team at Cheltenham, but could come into the reckoning for manager Mark Yates this weekend. Goalkeeper Jack Butland has returned to his parent club Birmingham following the conclusion of his loan stay at Whaddon Road, meaning Scott Brown will return, while striker Darryl Duffy is available after a ban.

Match Report

McLeod at the double Izale McLeod's double secured a 2-2 draw for Barnet and denied promotion-chasing Cheltenham setting a new club record of nine successive away wins in all competitions. Cheltenham took the lead after 32 minutes through midfielder Kaid Mohamed. The winger found himself unmarked and powered home a close-range header from Marlon Pack's corner. Nine minutes later Barnet were level when a patient build up saw Sam Deering cross from the by-line to find McLeod, who neatly swept home from five yards. Two minutes before the break Cheltenham were awarded a penalty for a foul on Mohamed by Mark Hughes. Darryl Duffy kept his cool and slammed home his seventh league goal of the campaign. But Barnet won a penalty of their own on the hour. McLeod was dragged down when through on goal by Sido Jombati before stepping up and converting from 12 yards for his 14th league goal of the season. Substitute Brian Smikle had the chance to win it late on for Cheltenham but he lobbed wide after latching on to a long clearance.
