Bury moved to the top of League Two on goal difference as they came from a goal behind to defeat Barnet at Underhill. The visitors started brightly fashioning out two good chances in the opening five minutes, first when Andy Morrell headed Elliott Bennett's cross straight into the arms of home keeper Lee Harrison, before Brian Barry-Murphy was a matter of inches wide with a 20-yard half-volley. Barnet's early approach to the game was a physical one encapsulated by a lengthy stoppage for treatment to Ben Futcher, who went down under a challenge from Cliff Akurang, which saw the latter pick up a yellow card. A superb defensive block from Bees captain Ismail Yakubu then prevented Andy Bishop's goalbound shot from troubling Harrison, before the home side created their first chance of the game. A superb run down the right flank from Albert Adomah saw him pick out Akurang, whose cheeky back-heel brought out a smart stop from Wayne Brown. Stephen Dawson then brought out a smart stop from Harrison, before Bury were then denied a half-time lead as from a goalmouth scramble, Paul Scott somehow saw his shot blocked on the line. Having been pretty much second best, Barnet stormed out of the blocks after the restart and within four minutes went ahead when Ryan Cresswell, who had just come on as a substitute for Bury, couldn't clear his lines. The ball fell to Adomah and he made no mistake drilling home right-footed from 18 yards. They should have doubled their lead midway through the half when Akurang spurned a glorious chance, heading tamely from Adam Birchall's cross. Birchall then failed to connect properly with a long ball played over the top which saw him just with Brown to beat and from the resulting counter-attack Bury drew level as top scorer Bishop fired in past Harrison. It got even better for the visitors minutes later when Dawson centred for Morrell and his sharp turn allowed him to fire home past Harrison via a deflection, to wrap up the win.
