Arsenal are going to cruise through the final few minutes and no doubt David moyes will be ruing the defensive errors that have cost his team today.

Possibly for his own good, Fabregas is being substituted with Rosicky coming on in his place.

86 mins

As is Flamini for preventing Pienaar from taking a quick free kick.

86 mins

Fabregas is now booked for a less than pretty challenge on Pienaar.

84 mins

Mikel Arteta has now been dismissed by the referee for violent conduct after catching Fabregas in the face - although the Arsenal man made an awful lot of nothing really.

82 mins

Lassana Diarra has been demanding more starts recently and he is on as a sub now for Alex Hleb.

80 mins

That will most likely be that and David Moyes will not believe that his team have defended as badly as this in the second half.

GOAL:Everton 1-3 Arsenal: (78mins) Another calamity in the Everton defence and Adebayor runs the ball into a completely empty net.

It comes out again as far as Carsley on the edge of the box but he places his shot straight down the throat of a relieved Almunia.

76 mins

Arteta is heavily involved again as he feeds Pienaar and his cross only just evades Johnson at the far post.

In fact it is Eduardo now that will come off for Adebayor.

Nicklas Bendtner is off for a second yellow card after a high challenge on Johnson.

Everton are making a change as Andy Johnson replaces Tony Hibbert so a change of formation is afoot for the Toffees.

Eduardo goes through on another route one ball from Clichy but he uses his hand to bring it down - needlessly - and is booked.

65 mins

Cahill scored an overhead kick at Stamford Bridge recently and he goes close again here with another but he can't get it on target.

64 mins

David Moyes' men have been a danger from set pieces today and they are so again as Arteta puts another one into the box but this time Sagna heads clear well.

61 mins

Everton's fans are in disbelief as Arsenal have only really mustered the two attacks but Eduardo's finishing has been deadly and his selection is truly being justified.

59 mins

GOAL:Everton 1-2 Arsenal: (59mins) Eduardo latches onto another ball behind the defence and slides it past Howard and Arsenal lead now at Goodison.

57 mins

Superb football from Everton and Lescott eventually drills the ball across and Yakubu meets it but he can't quite steer it inside the post.

54 mins

That goal has given Everton a bit of a shock as they would not expect to concede like that but they have responded pretty well and are back on the front foot again.

Arteta has run the show in this half and he drives goalwards again here but Almunia gets himself behind it to make the save.

45 mins

There are to be 2 minutes of added time.

43 mins

As we approach the break Arsene Wenger is hunched down as usual on his bench and no doubt contemplating what to tell his underperforming side.

40 mins

Still Arsenal struggle and now Yakubu chases his own flick and goes down under challenge from Toure and wants a penalty but the referee is not interested and it appears to be nothing more than a slight nudge.

37 mins

More brilliant attacking play from Everton with Arteta and Yakubu releasing Hibbert and his cutback is met by Phil Neville who places it a couple of yards wide.

35 mins

Arsenal finally manage to muster a meaningful attack as they force a corner that Toure gets on the end of but he can't steer it goalwards.

32 mins

Arteta looks on top of his game today and he feeds Pienaar on the edge of the box and the South African with a delightful backheel gets Yakubu in but his shot is saved by Almunia.

30 mins

Fabregas has been relatively silent so far and Everton are getting about him and Flamini in the centre of the pitch.

27 mins

Another unconvincing bit of defending from the Gunners from a set piece as they take three attempts to clear this time.

24 mins

A bit of early frustration from Bendtner as he needlessly fouls Yobo and picks up a booking.

23 mins

Everton have been the better side and they fully deserve that lead and it will be interesting to see if Arsenal change something.

20 mins

GOAL:Everton 1-0 Arsenal: (20mins) Tim Cahill continues his recent goalscoring form as he bundles home after Arsenal fail to clear a corner. Could there be more dramatic results today?

A bit of an early lull here as Toure drops to the floor with noone around him - after a couple of minutes he is up and play continues.

15 mins

Arsenal are yet to really get going so far and Everton are biting into the tackles well - Almunia is up and is fine by the way.

12 mins

Almunia makes a good claim from a Pienaar cross but has fallen a bit awkwardly and had stayed down clutching his hip - Lehmann is warming up.

10 mins

Everton have settled quite well here and they are not afraid to show some ambition when they get the ball but as everyone knows, if Arsenal can counter then they could cause a number of problems.

A great bit of play from Everton with Cahill and Arteta to the fore before Yakubu's final pass is a bit too strong for Pienaar and its a goal kick.

Welcome to Goodison Park where Arsenal look to reclaim top spot after Manchester United's defeat at Upton Park but Everton will be a big test of the Gunners.

Match Report

Arsenal's title hopes will be given another stern examination on Saturday when Arsene Wenger takes his side to in-form Everton.

The Gunners lost top spot to Manchester United on Boxing Day when they returned from Portsmouth with a point from a goalless draw while Sir Alex Ferguson's side were romping to a 4-0 victory at Sunderland.

December has been a mixed month for Arsenal and, since winning 2-1 at Aston Villa, they have secured important wins over Chelsea and Tottenham but also dropped points to Middlesbrough and Pompey.

Theo Walcott (flu) and Robin van Persie (thigh) both missed the goalless draw at Fratton Park, while Denilson will miss Saturday's encounter as he serves the final game of his three-match suspension.

Meanwhile, David Moyes' side responded to the narrow defeat at Manchester United last weekend which ended their impressive 13-match unbeaten run in all competitions, by beating Bolton Wanderers on Boxing Day.

The 2-0 victory lifted Everton back up to sixth in the Premier League table and enhanced their prospects of playing in Europe for a second successive season.

The Toffees have won six of their nine league games at Goodison Park so far this term, scoring 21 goals in the process, and have been particularly impressive recently winning their last four home matches.

Tim Cahill recovered sufficiently from a sprained ankle to score against Bolton, while Mikel Arteta was fit enough to start despite suffering from a virus.

However, Moyes will be without Andy van der Meyde (calf), Leon Osman (ankle), Leighton Baines (hamstring), Alan Stubbs (calf) and Iain Turner (hip) once again on Saturday.

Last term Everton beat the Gunners 1-0 on Merseyside, as they did in the 2005-06 season, while the two sides shared two goals at the Emirates Stadium 14 months ago.
